KIDS CHURCH--THE NEXT GENERATION CD-ROM README

The KIDS Church--The Next Generation Basic Unit CD-ROM contains full-color 
artwork for the Today's Life Stories, unit backdrops and lesson Power Points--
available as jpeg image files and Microsoft¨ PowerPoint¨ files. In addition, it 
includes customizable Adobe¨ PDF¨ files for KIDS Church certificates and name 
tags. Printable "extras" include lesson planners, KIDS Church Cash and more.

The following instructions will help you take full advantage of the CD-ROM.

Using the Resource Files
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

JPG -- The jpeg image files can be used with Microsoft¨ PowerPoint¨ or any number 
of graphics and presentation programs. Consult your user manual for instructions on 
importing the files into your particular program. 

PPT -- The Microsoft¨ PowerPoint¨ files and can be customized to fit your needs and 
saved to your computer's hard drive. Consult your PowerPoint¨ user manual for 
further instructions on ways to customize your presentations. (You must have Microsoft¨ 
PowerPoint¨ installed on your machine to use these files. A free download of 
PowerPoint¨ Viewer¨ is available at www.microsoft.com. Downloading this software 
will allow you to view the PowerPoint files.) 

PDF -- To view or print the Adobe¨ PDF files you must have Adobe¨ Reader¨ 
installed on your computer. You can install it from this CD by double-clicking the 
"Reader 5.1 Installer.exe" file (for Windows) or the "Acrobat Reader Installer" file 
(for Macintosh). A more current version of this software may be available as a 
free download from http://www.adobe.com. The certificates and name tags files
have customizable fields--click on a field to type in names and dates for 
customization before printing. Click on the printer icon to print the page.

G3 or faster, minimum 128MB RAM, running OS8.1 or higher

PC: 
Pentium 2 or faster, minimum 128MB RAM, Windows¨ 98, 2000 or XP

Getting Started 
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Starting the CD (MAC)
1.  Put the CD into your CD-ROM drive. MAC should autostart the CD. (We cannot 
guarantee that the CD will autostart using OSX.)
2.  If the CD does not start by itself, double-click the "KIDS Church Next Generation" 
CD icon on the desktop.
3.  Double-click the "Index" icon.

Starting the CD (PC)
1.  Put the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2.  Windows should autostart the CD.
3.  If the CD does not start by itself, select "Run..." from the Start menu, and type: 
D:\index.html (where D is the letter of your CD drive) and press the "OK" button.
